आईटीबीपी के महानिदेशक एसएस देशवाल ने निर्धारित समय में 42किमी दूरी तय की।
मसूरी : भारत तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस बल अकादमी में अधिकारियों की शारीरिक दक्षता कोर्स के तहत 42 किमी की अंतिम परीक्षण दौड़ आयोजित की गई। इस मैराथन दौड़ में अधिकारियों एवं जवानों का उत्साहवर्धन करने हेतु बल के महानिदेशक एसएस देशवाल भारतीय पुलिस सेवा ने स्वयं दौड़ लगाकर निर्धारित समय में दौड़ पूरी की।
आईटीबीपी में बल के अधिकारियों को शारीरिक रूप से मजबूत बनाने के प्रायोजन से यह शारीरिक दक्षता प्रशिक्षण चलाया जाता है इस कोर्स में सहायक सेनानी से लेकर उप महानिरीक्षक रैंक के 32 अधिकारी शामिल हैं। अकादमी के निदेशक महानिरीक्षक पीएस पापटा ने कुशल निर्देशन व पर्यवेक्षण में इन अधिकारियों को शारीरिक दक्षता से संबंधित विभिन्न क्रिया क्लापों, लंबी व मध्यम दूरी की दौड, रूट मार्च, माउंटेन ट्रेनिंग, माउंटेन साइकिलिंग, राफिटग, मार्शल आर्ट, तथा विभिन्न यौगिक क्रियाओं का सघन अभयास कराया गया। मालूम हो कि भारत तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस बल देश का एकमाात्र ऐसा केंद्रीय सशस्त्र बल है जो कि पूरे वर्ष कठिन भौगोलिक एवं विषम मौसमी परिस्थितियों में भारत तिब्बत सीमा पर तैनात रहकर देश को अभेद्य सुरक्षा प्रदान कर रहा है। बल देश की अपेक्षाओं के अनुरूप अपने कर्तव्यों के निर्वहन हेतु अधिकारियों एवं जवानों का शारीरिक एवं मानसिक रूप से मजबूत कर प्रतिकूल परिस्थतियों से निपटने का मनोबल पैदा कर हिमालय की तरह उंचा बनाये रखता है। इसी कड़ी में बल के महानिदेशक 58 वर्षीय देशवाल ने बल की विभिन्न फार्मशनों में प्रशिक्षण गतिविधियों में बराबर भाग लेकर जवानों एवं अधिकारियों को निरंतर प्रेरित व प्रोत्साहित कर रहे हैं। कोर्स की इस अंतिम परीक्षण दौड़ में पीएस पापटा निदेश अकादमी, सेनानी प्रशासन परमिंदर सिंह, सेनानी प्रशिक्षण वेणुधर नायक, मुख्य चिकित्साधिकारी डा. रोहित नौटियाल, सहित अकादमी के अधिकारियों ने भी भाग लिया।
