Oak grove school 131st annual sports day

Mussoorie : Oak Grove School organized its 131st Annual Sports Day, today. The Chief Guest on the occasion, Shri Tarun Prakash, Divisional Railway Manager, Northern Railway, Moradabad division inaugurated the function by unfurling the school flag in the valley ground and took the salute of the march past.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest said that along with education, sports are also important as they help in developing the overall personality of the students. He said that while playing any game, sportsmanship spirit should be kept in mind. Shri Prakash further said that sports have different place in a student’s life as they develop self confidence and physical abilities.
The Chief Guest congratulated the students on excelling in the fields of academics and sports at the regional and national levels. He further added that Northern Railway was keen on supporting the school to make it a premier institution in the country with all modern amenities and infrastructure.
The Annual Athletics meet was inaugurated, by running on the ground with Olympic torch, by the best player of Senior Boys Section, Master Vishnu Kumar and Rahul Yadav of class-X . The meet started with the March Past by the students of the three wings of the school, which was outstanding .The School band was led by Shinaya Singh of class-VII. The School Captains, Vipul Kumar Rana (Boys’ Captain) and Ishita (Girls’ Captain) led the march past proudly by holding the school banner .The Oath was taken by Vipul Kumar Rana , School Captain, Boys’ Section .
In Boys’ section Dipesh Singh and Abhinav Anand won Gold medal in Shot put in Junior and Intermediate division respectively.
Vipul Rana of Class –XII won the Gold medal in 400 and 800 meter race in Senior division , Jatin Yadav won the Gold medal in High Jump. Aditya Prakash of Class-VIII won the gold medal in 400,800 and 1600 meter race in Junior division. Rohan Kumar of class-VI won the gold medal in High Jump and Triple jump in sub Junior division.
In Girls’ section Shreya Saxena and Prashansha Tyagi of class-X won Gold and Silver medal in Shot put in Intermediate division .
Mr. Vipul Goel , Principal, Oak Grove School thanked the Chief Guest and other dignitaries present in the school Valley. He appreciated the spirit of the games performed by the students and said that sports and academics go side by side in the development of a student’s personality and inspired the youngsters to work hard both in academics and sports and further stated that winning and losing are part of the game and everyone should jointly celebrate the victory. Mr. Goel further added that this year near about three hundred Athletes participated in the annual sports day to make the event successful.
The Annual Athletics meet was witnessed by Mrs. Meenakshi Sharma, President, NRWWO ,Moradabad Division, Mrs. Heena Dhobal, ADMO ,Oak Grove School, Jharipani, Dr.Sanajy Dube ,Head Master ,Oak Grove Boys’ School , Mr. Anand Kumar , Head Master ,Oak Grove Junior School , Mrs. Kusum kamboj, Incharge Head Mistress, Oak Grove Girls’ School, Dr.Atul Kumar Saxena, Mr.Vinay Kumar, Mrs.Anuradh Sharma , Mrs. Anjali Dube, Mr.Anupam Singh, Mr.Sahadab Alam, Mr.Abhishek Rawat and all the faculty members of the School.
